Yuu (The Cruel King and the Great Hero)

Character Blog

If it isn't already clear from the two blogs we made, including characters of the franchise, we are VERY big fans of Cruel King and Great Hero, with Yuu being one of the most adorable characters ever. With us already doing a blog on her, we decided to make a character blog about her. Also, since we don't have any fluffy animals to distract her, we're currently being invaded joined by Yuu herself.

Hello everyone, it's nice to meet you all! Hope you can enjoy this character blog about me!

Background

Once upon a time, in the Monster Kingdom, led by a benevolent ruler named Dragon King, there was something strange: a human girl living amongst the monsters. This girl was Yuu (that's me!), and her goal was to become a great hero like her biological father before her. She lost her parents when she was a baby, and Dragon King looked after her while helping her achieve her goal. Yuu went out to help whoever she can help, and by doing so, she was able to make plenty of friends and make new allies, such as a fox cub named Rocky, who she helped by curing his sick family, a bat monster named Cybat, who went with her to investigate the Hunnee Tribe problem (he was responsible for it and wanted to kill her due to missing the power of a certain someone we’ll get into later, but she forgave him, so it’s ok) and a human princess named Flora, who she saved from succumbing in her Fountain Trial that she ventured to make a wish. As for what Flora went to risk her life for, it’s due to rumors of a dangerous monster from the past.

Long ago, the Demon King (who was the certain someone we mentioned that Cybat missed the power of) had nearly destroyed humanity until a certain hero defeated him. Now, there are rumors that the same Demon King was starting to regain his power, so Flora went out to make her wish for the sake of her kingdom. Naturally, Yuu decided to help Flora defeat the Demon King, only for the shoe to finally drop when they arrived at Demon King Mountain, in which the Demon King she promised Flora she'd defeat is none other than her adoptive father, Dragon King (dun dun dun...). Yuu's father defeated the Demon King a long time ago, but after sparing him and nursing him back to health, they eventually became friends. However, one day, a monster attacked Yuu’s parents when they were with their infant daughter, and while the mother instantly died, the father was able to get to Dragon King and ask him to take care of her before succumbing to his wounds, which led to the events happening in the present.

After defeating her father, he requested her to kill him, and she was about to do it until a spider monster named Arthur (who was the monster that KILLED Yuu’s parents) stepped in and reattached the severed horn that Yuu’s father had sliced off those years ago. His plan? The return of the Demon King. After fatally wounding Yuu, Flora took her to the Fountain Trial, with Yuu having to face the darkness of her heart to return and save her father (after getting a pep talk from Flora, as she was understandably and justifiably shaken from what happened). After conquering the trial, she returned to Demon King Mountain, defeated Arthur, and after a long battle, she followed in her father’s footsteps by defeating the Demon King and severing his horn like her father did all those years ago. After a heart-to-heart, Dragon King realized his mistake of wanting Yuu to kill him, and they soon flew back home, slowly bridging the gap between humans and monsters. Being a hero is hard, but a big lesson Yuu, and frankly, all of us learned is that being a hero isn’t about your strength or the monsters you’ve slain, but the people you saved. And it truly shows that Yuu lived up to her father’s legacy. And that is the story on how a young, bright girl became a great hero.

Experience and Intelligence

Yuu, since discovering her father was a great hero, spent many years and seasons training in basic sword combat. Seemingly to match how her deceased father used to use his sword. Slamming it into foes like a hammer. She would also train tirelessly every day just so she could become a GREAT HERO! While not really learning how to read or write, she seemingly is studying with the Human Kingdom’s Princess, named Flora, to learn how to read and write. (And she actually has! YIPPIE!!!!)

Of course I'd want to learn how to read! I want to read Flora's diary when she eventually publishes it. It helps that she's a great teacher.

Despite her small age, she has accomplished many things. Such as finding the sacred Blooming Forest to find a cure for a fox family’s illness, doing detective work to stop an impending war between bears and bees, visiting the Fountain World, which is a world outside of their own, exploring around the world she is in, including scaling Demon King Mountain! She is also fairly skilled in combat, as she knows how to use certain items and how to defeat certain enemies. She has even conquered the Dark Fountain Trial, in which almost all people who have done it died, and defeated the mighty Demon King. Pretty impressive for a little girl.

Equipment

Befitting an RPG character such as herself, Yuu has collected many items, weapons, and armor throughout her adventures! There's a lot, so let's not waste any time and dive right in!

Items

Magic Crumbs

These are magical crumbs that Yuu carries around. If she sprinkles them on herself, she gets instantly teleported to the Monster Village. And it has an infinite use.

Hollow Bumpy Stone

This item protects Yuu from immense frigid temperatures, keeping her warm and toasty.

Mysterious Twig

When Yuu is within the Fountain World, this stick, when touched on the ground, makes clouds within the world disappear.

Storybooks

Storybooks are books that open a portal that allows Yuu to travel to any place she wants, including other worlds outside her own, such as the Liar Princess and the Blind Prince.

Healing Items

There are different types of healing items that Yuu has found throughout her journey to different places. They are mostly fruit, btw. Hunee is reeeeally delicious~

  • Power Fruit: Heals 20 HP.
  • Healthy Fruit: Heals 50 HP.
  • Special Hunee: Heals 70 HP.
  • Fruit of Life: Heals 120 HP.
  • Fairy Fruit: Refills 2 energy once consumed, and will continuously refill 2 energy for a short time.
  • Spirit Fruit: Refills 5 energy once consumed, and will continuously refill 5 energy for a short time.
  • Potions: She carries potions called Angel’s Cures and Angel’s Elixirs. They heal HP WAY MORE than any healing item.
  • Revival Items: Again, as the name suggests, she carries around items that can revive and restore health. One can heal half HP (Renewal Droplet), one can buff allies (Leaf of Life), and one can restore ALL HP (Leaf of Life).

Status Effect Items

In TCKATGH, there are numerous status effects that Yuu can either apply to enemies or remove from herself. We’ll mention the status effect, the item that applies it, and the item that specifically cures it (Unless there isn’t an item that can specifically cure or remove it), although Pancrea can cure all status effects in one go. The status effects are…
  • Burn: This causes the target to get…well, burned. Dealing damage over time. Lava Pollen can apply it to others and Ice Pack can remove it.
  • Chill: This causes a target to be unable to move due to the sheer cold. Snow Powder can apply it to others and Hot Compress can remove it.
  • Poison: Just like burned, it deals damage over time, but instead, it's poison. Death Cap can apply it to others.
  • Sticky: This causes the target to take more damage and move more slowly.
  • Seal: This nullifies powers and special abilities for a whole fight. Cursed Web can apply it to others, and Relearner can cure Yuu of it.
  • Sleepy: As the name suggests, it causes targets to fall asleep for a few turns. Dreamer Bubble can apply it to others, and Stimulant can remove it

Misc Items

  • Strength Seed: A seed that increases attack.
  • Strength Fruit: A better version of the Strength Seed.
  • Endurance Seed: A seed that increases defense.
  • Endurance Fruit: A better version of Endurance Seed.
  • Flight Feather: An item that increases speed and evasion.
  • Flight Tailfeather: A better version of Flight Feather.
  • Drift Ice: An item that deals ice damage to all enemies.
  • Huneesickle Whip: A whip that deals damage and decreases enemy damage by 3x.
  • Melty Clouds: An item that deals damage and lowers enemy defense.
  • Magma Droplet: An item that deals Fire damage to all enemies.
  • Dreamer Perfume: An item that puts opponents to sleep, but specifically Antgobblers.
  • Scent Box: A box that has a scent that can calm down anyone furious due to its aroma.
  • Monsterbane: An item that repels monsters to decrease encounters with monsters.
  • Glass Statue: An item that turns all damage into 1 damage (a specific equip extends duration).
  • Stardust: An item that causes stars to rain from the sky to damage enemies.
  • Rewind Powder: A powder that can reverse time on objects to fix them.
  • Oblivion Remedy: An elixir that can erase people's memories.
  • Hunee Mead: A drink Yuu had created for an Act of Kindness (side quest), with it being the tastiest liquor in the Monster Kingdom.

Weapons

Stick

Yuu’s first weapon. A classic. Who wouldn’t want to pick up a stick in the woods and use it as a badass sword??? Along with this, she uses this stick to draw in the dirt, as shown above. Unfortunately, it broke, forcing her to ditch it and get a REAL SWORD.

Wooden Sword

Created by the local blacksmith, this was Yuu's first "real" sword.

Stone Sword

A HEAVY sword that is made of stone. However, it is great for training!

Mirage Sword

A sword that is light as air, in which it almost doesn't seem real. This sword, while lowering defense, increases her speed.

Spirit Sword

After finding the broken sword of her deceased father and completing the fountain trial, Yuu's sword absorbed the soul of the Fountain Spirit, emitting a comforting warmth and changing the sword's gray color to a bright pink. Along with these, it allows her to draw magic from the Spirit and be able to use fire magic by herself. Fun fact: the sword is not actually sharp. It's instead used as a hammer to slam into opponents.

Miasma Sword

This sword, while having a very low attack, does 10x damage to dazed enemies. Also, this sword is COOL ASF.

Yuu's Sword

After completing an extra-hard Fountain Trial, Yuu obtains this sword, which was formed from the depths of her heart, and it becomes her ideal and most powerful sword. Along with this, it restores her energy over time.

Armors

Pots

  • Dented Pot: Yuu's first pot. She found this in the woods, and while it has probably seen better days, it works as a makeshift helmet!
  • Brand New Pot: This pot is brand new and shines!
  • Wind Pot: This is a sturdy but light pot, perfect for any artisan!
  • Iron Pot: A very HEAVY and sturdy pot, great for defense.
  • Royal Pot: A shiny gold pot. I mean, if no one is using it then...
  • Dark Pot: A very weird pot that seems to be oozing dread...
  • Worn Pot: This pot is very battered, with lower defense, but heals over time.
  • Home Pot: This pot is special. It originally belonged to the Fountain Spirit and gives off a sense of nostalgia. This is also the strongest pot.

Robes

  • Light Robe: While having low defense, this robe makes up for it by increasing Yuu's speed and evasion.
  • Crystal Robe: This is almost the stark opposite of the Light Robe, with it having HIGHER DEFENSE, but lowering attack and speed.

Rings

  • Power Ring: As the name suggests, it raises her attack by 2.
  • Speed Ring: Again, as the name suggests, it raises her speed by 3.
  • Lightning Ring: Raises her attack by 10 and her speed by 5.
  • Defense Ring: Again, looking at the name, it raises her defense by 2.
  • Recovery Ring: This restores her health by 5 over time.
  • Fairy Ring: At the end of every battle, it will restore her energy by 1.
  • Hero's Ring: Her strongest ring, it raises her attack by 20, defense by 10, and speed by 10.

Gauntlets

  • Hunter's Gauntlet: This increases her damage against beast monsters, which are just stronger monsters.
  • Survival Gauntlet: It restores 2 more energy when Yuu is guarding.
  • Healing Gauntlet: This makes it so her normal attacks heal. Funnily enough, if she hits herself, she heals herself.
  • Strong Gauntlet: This increases Yuu's attack greatly, but it gets out of control, in which she cannot control which target she hits.

Amulets

  • Small Amulet: This grants her a slight resistance to status ailments.
  • Chilled Amulet: It protects her from the Chilled status effect.
  • Ice Amulet: Any ice damage against Yuu would be halved with this.
  • Fire Amulet: Similarly to the Ice Amulet, it halves all fire damage.
  • Stamina Amulet: This increases Yuu's health by 20.
  • Sealed Amulet: This protects her from the Sealed status effect, which is power nullification.
  • Omni-Man Amulet: Her strongest amulet, which prevents Yuu from ALL status effects. WHERE IS HE?!

Glasses

  • Smart Glasses: Looking sharp! But anyway, this increases her precision, which allows her to hit crits more often.
  • Tiger Glasses: Similarly, this raises her critical chance, which makes it so every strike is a critical hit, but lowers her accuracy.

Bracelets

  • Evasion Bracelet: This decreases her defense, but makes it so that her evasion is better, with her being able to dodge attacks.
  • Spirit Bracelet: This restores 1 energy over time.
  • Master's Bracelet: It lowers Yuu's energy consumption by 1.
  • Grit Bracelet: While under negative status effects, her attack and speed increase.

Charms

  • Rebirth Charm: Once Yuu dies or faints, it revives her instantly. She can hold up to 10 of these.
  • Hunee Charm: When under the Sticky status effect, it halves all damage against her.

Shoes

  • Heavy Shoes: SHE GOT DRIP! But anyways, it increases her defense by 20, but makes it so Yuu is the last to attack.
  • Sticky Shoes: These shoes give Yuu the Sticky status effect at all times.

Overcoats

  • Chilled Overcoat: This gives enemies the Chilled status effect sometimes when they attack her.
  • Burned Overcoat: This is pretty much the same thing, but it gives them the Burned status effect instead.
  • Light Overcoat: It increases her evasion, making attacks easier to dodge.

Orbs

  • Recovery Orb: This restores 10 health over time.
  • Heat Orb: When attacking with this, it deals fire damage.
  • Cold Orb: When attacking with this, it does ice damage instead.

Needles

  • Hot Needle: This increases damage against enemies that are under the Chilled status effect.
  • Cold Needle: This increases damage against enemies that are under the Burned status effect.
  • Needle of Pursuit: Similarly to the other two, it deals damage to enemies that are dazed.

Miscellaneous Equips

  • Large Sickle: This VERY LARGE weapon allows Yuu to damage ALL ENEMIES, but at the cost of halving her damage.
  • Treasure Tome: Not combat applicable, but increases her XP gain by 50%.
  • Piggy Bank: Again, not combat applicable, but increases her shell gain by 50%.
  • Iron Plate: This reduces damage against her when she is guarding.
  • Arrow Feathers: This increases her attack against flying monsters.
  • Crest of Courage: When Yuu's allies fall, her attack and defense will increase.
  • Villain Mask: Very devious, but increases her attack while sacrificing her Special Skills, in which she can't use them anymore.
  • Sweatband: When guarding, this doubles Yuu's damage afterwards.
  • Wise Man's Glove: When equipped, it triples the lifespan of the item's effect. For example, like with the Glass Statue.
  • Recovery Jewel: Basically a stronger version of the Recovery Orb, which increases her health by 50 and restores 20 health over time.
  • Big Cup: This doubles her energy, but increases consumption by 2.

The Fountain Spirit

While not technically an item, the Fountain Spirit is within Yuu’s sword, which allows her to use fire magic. But basically, the Fountain Spirit is a wish-granting being from the Fountain World (Who may or may not be Yuu’s mom). Due to being chill with the spirit, Yuu can utilize fountains scattered across her world that can transport her to different places or the Fountain World itself, and can heal her HP and stamina instantly. Within the Fountain World, the spirit can start Fountain Trials, which create a pocket dimension of the person’s darkness within their heart, which can trap them inside with no way out. Including teleportation. If they stay in there for too long, they get spirited away and die. Along with this, in the Fountain World, Yuu sorta has immortality due to healing at an accelerated rate, and her physical body is frozen in time until she leaves the world.

Speaking of wishes, she could grant "any wish", so Yuu could THEORETICALLY have wishes granted mid-fight. HOWEVER, there are two caveats to the whole wish thing, as Yuu can't just snap her fingers and have any number of wishes granted. The first caveat is that in order to get a wish, she'd have to complete a Dark Fountain trial first, which obviously wouldn't be easy to do mid-fight. The second caveat is that after completing a trial, Yuu can only get ONE wish granted, meaning that Yuu would have to do ANOTHER trial in order to get another wish granted.

ClaDun X3 Equipment

In ClaDun X3, Yuu can use essentially ANY weapon from the game. Additionally, she can get certain abilities from jobs that she can use with certain weapons, which is explained later. She also has armor, shields, and amulets, which help with higher defense! Since there are so many weapons in the game, we’ll just mention the important ones to save us some time.

Swords

Swords are what you expect, being moderately fast weapons that cut through enemies with ease!

These are my favorite~!

Blunts

Blunts are axes and hammers. These are heavier weapons that do more damage, but at the cost of swing time. They also have the added bonus of smashing stone blocks that other weapons can’t normally break. They can also charge to deal massive damage and attack at a wider range.

Actually, these seem more accurate to how my actual sword is…

Staves

Staves are wands or staffs that are not for bonking enemies with the weapon itself. More accurately, it is used for more ranged attacks. They can shoot fire, ice, or spirit projectiles, and have 3 different types of targeting, which are direct, 3-directional, or homing attacks.

Talismans

Talismans are (objectively) the better shields. They create a bubble shield around the user that lowers the damage the user takes. Amulets have a neat perk in which if the opponent has less durability than the user, the shield just completely absorbs the damage, dealing 0 damage, Medallions reduces damage and healing by durability %, and Tails cause durability to be reduced by damage taken. The more damage the user takes, the closer the shield gets to breaking. These shields also run on SP, so if the user runs out, they can’t use these anymore.

Equipment Titles

In Classic Dungeon X3, there are equipment titles, basically the buffs/debuffs of the game, that can be attached to equipment. We’re only going to mention the positive ones that apply to combat (Note: there are A LOT, and if some titles have text regarding shields and guarding, that effect happens instead of the other one for THOSE specific titles).

  • ATK/DEF+ 1&3: ATK (or DEF) +1 (or +3 if you have the +3 version).
  • SP 4/10/20/30/50: SP + listed number (4, 10, 20, 30, or 50).
  • Impress: ATK/DEF +1, Walk +6. SDEF +5 (when applied to shield when guarding).
  • Ice: Ice resistance +3.
  • Fire: Fire resistance +3.
  • Mind: Spirit resistance +2.
  • Physical: Physical resistance +1. Durability +1 (when applied to shield when guarding).

Ghost Costume

Yuu really loves Halloween, and one of her costumes is a ghost costume.

Pumpkin Costume

Another one of Yuu’s costumes. This time, she is wearing a pumpkin costume and has an orange and black lollipop! Yummy!

Powers and Abilities

Musical Skills

While this isn't something that would be useful in battle (unless the opponent has a weakness to music), Yuu is very good when it comes to music. She is experienced with playing the banjo (as shown above), being a conductor, and is a pretty good singer.

It was a lot of fun learning how to perform and sing. Maybe I could sing for a future Star Festival!

Special Skills

Special Skills are abilities that Yuu can use at the expense of losing energy. They allow her to use different combinations of attacks. They even allow her to use fire magic! While she wasn’t able to before, the Spirit Sword with the Fountain Spirit allowed her to utilize it properly!
  • Flame Slash: This attack ignites her sword on fire, and she slams it into enemies for a more powerful attack. This fire is so powerful that it can even hurt the Wild Fiery Lizzerd, who is hotter than the sun.
  • Gale Slash: This is a fast attack that quickly slices through enemies. It is so fast that it even allows her to attack first.
  • Jump Slash: This is a vertical slash attack that can attack multiple enemies by slicing through them.
  • Great Flame Slash: This is a more powerful version of the Flame Slash, in which this does EVEN MORE damage, and can scorch multiple enemies at once.
  • Survey: This is an action that doesn’t require any energy. Yuu essentially looks closely at an enemy and learns their weaknesses. It even includes learning about their stats and description. She is pretty much mind-reading here. No, really. She is.
  • Guard: She blocks to halve all damage and gain energy.

Critical Hits

Critical Hits are a gameplay mechanic that has a chance of happening when attacking. But basically, these can ignore durability. Treasure Cats have the highest durability in the game, with a defense stat of 99999. Even with your strongest weapons, you can ONLY hit for 1 damage. Then, by hitting them with a critical, you can bypass their durability and instantly kill them. Along with this, in ClaDun X3, Yuu is able to one-shot invulnerable Immortals with the Punish title.

That reminds me of that one line in the blog of me against Paper Mario where it said that I had the Murasama on deck. What's a Murasama again?

Fourth Wall Awareness

Yuu seemingly has Fourth Wall Awareness, as she knows she is within a storybook, and seemingly knows that other mediums outside of hers exist. Such as the time she traversed into the Liar Princess and the Blind Prince’s story, went to a joint exhibit selling real-life merch, watched a stream of her game, leaving the confines of the comic she is in, etc.

Time Travel

Within Classic Dungeon X3, Yuu can run between pages of the book she is in to accelerate and rewind time. The music even resets every time you go from one page to another, adding on that time has been jumped. This could prove that Yuu's saves are canon, due to them being represented as bookmarks. Whenever she dies, she probably is like: "Oop! Let me just go back to this point!" Which also makes sense due to her time traveling by going between the pages. But that's just a theory. This also shows more of her Fourth Wall-breaking abilities.

Also, this whole thing with traveling between pages is most likely Yuu’s ability. I mean, the map even recommends that you play as Yuu for this mini story.

Non-Physical Interaction

Jobs

In ClaDun X3, there are jobs (which are basically the game's version of an RPG class, although you can use other weapons, but not their abilities), each of which has certain traits and abilities that can be used. For Yuu, we will be granting her the jobs with hammer skills (Explanation in Before the Summary). Since Yuu's weapon (her stick) in the game is categorized as a stave, using jobs that utilize hammer skills seems like the right choice to go with. (Although she could theoretically use ANY job, let's just give her these, and that's it.)

As a Warrior, the user gains Sword, Hammer, and Spear abilities. Their job skill is Long Slide, which increases sliding distances. With each Warrior sub-character (or party member) added, they get 0.1 seconds added to their slide time.

As a Saint, the user gains Hammer, Bow, and Dagger abilities. Along with this, they get healing and support magic. Their job skill is Dead’s End, which kills undead enemies like Skeltis permanently (which negates resurrection). Although it is only a 48% chance. But for each Saint sub-character on a team, it increases by 12%.

Resistances

  • Extreme Heat/Burns: Yuu can resist being around and damaged by enemies who are hotter than the sun, and with the Omni-Amulet, she can resist burns.
  • Extreme Cold/Freezing/Radiation: Yuu can survive cold temperatures by carrying around the Hollow Bumpy Stone, and can fight enemies who can make snowstorms and blizzards. She can also resist the “chill” status effect with the Omni-Amulet and can resist “radiated freezing.”
  • Poison/Acid: Can survive attacks from poison enemies, in which some can kill and stop the growing of plants with their toxins, with the Omni-Amulet. She can also resist acid-based attacks that can melt things.
  • Sleep Manipulation: She is not affected by Dream Seapony’s singing, which can put targets to sleep with yet again, with the Omni-Amulet.
  • Soul Manipulation: Yuu can survive her fountain trial, in which, most likely, her soul is more vulnerable since she is no longer in her physical body within the Fountain World. Along with this, she can survive altercations with Death Gods, who can take souls.
  • Power Nullification: Griffons can use “seal” on Yuu, which power nullifies. But again, the great almighty Omni-Amulet (are you sure?) comes to save the day by giving her resistance to this.
  • Partial Mind Manipulation: Yuu can fight off mental corruption by Nightmare Water Fleas for a short time, but will eventually get her mind corrupted if given enough time.
  • Statistics Reduction: With the Omni-Amulet yet again, Yuu can resist “sticky,” which makes her defense lower and slower, and can resist Cotton Bugs’ cling ability, which lowers accuracy.
  • Possibly Dimensional BFR: Nightmare Heads are stated to take targets to another world with their roots. Yuu can survive altercations with them, though it is hard to say if they were trying to BFR her in their fight.

Scaling

Yuu's Allies and Monsters

Yuu has had many allies on her quest to become a great hero. She should upscale them due to being massively stronger than all of them, and the fact that they have fought the same enemies together. And for monsters, she should naturally upscale due to defeating these guys.

The Dragon/Demon King

Yuu should be able to upscale the Dragon King and the Demon King, due to her defeating them. So scaling to him should be fine.

  • When the Demon King was resurrected, it created earthquakes that spanned to Hunee Crystal Woods (5.8 Megatons of TNT) (Small City)
  • The Demon King was going to burn two kingdoms to ash (71.96 Gigatons of TNT) (Island)
  • The Dragon King flew from his home to Demon King Mountain without Yuu noticing
  • The Demon King flew to cloud level in seconds (Mach 4.33 - Mach 10) (Supersonic+ - Hypersonic+)

Nippon Ichi Software Characters (See Before the Summary)

You may be thinking how Yuu scales to these other characters, and why are these characters here? Well, Yuu has officially crossed over with the Liar Princess and is shown to be vastly superior to her in power (including the fact that she is scared of Yuu’s power). The Liar Princess can scale to powerful characters such as Laharl and Alexander through Makai Wars, along with Ash and Marona through Phantom Brave. If that doesn’t convince you, Yuu has officially crossed over with all these characters in Classic Dungeon X3 and has fought the same enemies in that game.

Omni-Man

WHERE IS OMNI-MAN???

Weaknesses

While Yuu has achieved many accomplishments, she’s not without her downsides. Outside of battle, her main downside is the fact that Yuu isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed due to her upbringing, with her not knowing how to read for most of her life (although she is learning how to right now) and her being too trusting, with the latter being the reason why Cybat had the chance to kill her during the Hunne Tribe incident. In battle, Yuu’s main weakness is the fact that she’s a pacifist and doesn’t go around killing people (which makes sense, as heroes don’t go around killing people), so her opponents don’t have to worry about her killing them anytime soon, and she’s typically used to fighting with her party and has less experience fighting solo. For any skills and abilities from job skills and talismans, they need SP, which is limited, and finally, there's the strange weakness of Yuu having an infatuation with fluffy animals and immediately diving into them and falling asleep due to this, but unless the opponent can summon them, Yuu wouldn't have to worry about it.

Before the Summary

Are Dream World feats quantifiable?

One of Yuu’s stronger feats comes from when she is within the Nightmare World. In there, she can battle Dream Tapirs, which are stated to eat dreams, starting from the end and cutting them off in the middle. But one question remains. How big are dreams to reach Solar System to Multi-Solar System levels of power? Surely dreams aren’t that large…right? Well, first off, within the Nightmare World, which is clearly shown to be replicas of Yuu’s actual memories within the Monster Realm, in which celestial bodies such as the sun are present. Along with this, there are other things like clouds, rocks, grass, a moon, and STARS are present. Even in the official guidebook, it shows that Yuu’s dream contained stars and a moon within it. Backing this up. And again, Yuu is able to keep up and trade blows with these creatures. There is also no reason that these guys hold back in their fight, as they are all hostile.

But another question that may be asked is if these dreams are even tangible? Well, yeah, they are! Yuu can bring items from this world like the Spirit Sword, Yuu’s Sword, Home Pot, Omni Amulet, Spirit Stone, other ally equips, shop items, etc. If these worlds really weren’t real, how could they be brought to the real world? Along with this, we are able to interact and damage monsters within these worlds, in which some of them are noted to be made of mist.

But we aren’t done yet. Some statements could raise Yuu’s power beyond just the Solar System. It's mainly due to a quest line within the game, where a character named Corvo was put in a dream where he was on a road. While he did try and make distance by walking down it, the road just kept going and going. This shows that dreams also could potentially be infinite in size, raising Yuu’s power from Solar System to High Universal, which Yuu would be able to scale to, considering that she gained the full power of the Fountain World after completing her trial. And could raise her speed to Infinite, since Dream Tapirs essentially eat half of dreams. Eating half of infinity means they should have infinite speed.

What’s with jobs in Classic Dungeon X3?

This part is relatively simple, but its mainly explaining why Yuu only has access to certain jobs within ClaDun X3. Jobs essentially are their version of a class system, with each job having a different perk and a set of abilities for a set of weapons. But why does Yuu only have access to jobs that grant hammer (or blunt) abilities? Well, its kinda simple. Yuu’s weapon within the game is her stick, which the skin for it is a blunt weapon. So to be fair, we gave her jobs with hammer abilities, since that would be her using abilities from her stick technically. But, you could also make the case that she could just have any job within ClaDun X3, which is completely fair. But to be honest, the most it adds are minor perks and dagger abilities. Sooooooooooooo…not really much. If you want us to choose ONE job in particular for Yuu to use, it would be the Saint job because in her initial gameplay teaser for her on the official website for ClaDun X3, Yuu was seemingly using the Saint Job’s hammer skills, and honestly…it just fits her character best, with it being mainly a healer class lol.

Does Yuu scale to other Nippon Ichi Software characters?

Hey! I would never say a bad word like that!

Alrighty, now this is the big one. Could Yuu scale to other Nippon Ichi Software characters, and how can Yuu scale to other Nippon Ichi Software characters? Well, let's get into that. For starters, Disgaea as a franchise, along with other NIS games, is sorta like an “everyone scales to each other” franchise, kinda like Looney Tunes in a way. But also, their worlds are connected in a way, as they cross over SO MUCH. Now, it is worth mentioning that crossovers outside of NIS-owned characters are seemingly not canon. Stuff like Attack on Titan, Seven Deadly Sins, Madoka Magica, Touhou, etc. Mainly due to the fact it doesn’t make sense in their lore, but also it not being the same characters most likely. But when all NIS-owned franchises crossover, and seem to be canon. Now, what does this mean for Yuu?

Well, Yuu has shown to be able to traverse to different worlds, or universes beyond her own. Such as when she met the Princess and Prince from the Liar Princess and the Blind Prince. Multiple times. She also seemingly knows about other franchises, such as Disgaea. But to take it a step further, in a game called Makai Wars, a character named Asagi is tasked by the goddess Freya to gather many characters across the multiverse to save a parallel multiverse. And the Princess and Prince were two of those characters. They can fight alongside and against Laharl and other characters, such as Mao or Alexander. Then, she was added to Phantom Brave, where she again scales to other characters, such as Marona, who actually canonically defeated Laharl. 3 times. She was even able to access Zetta’s Dimension despite it only permitting Overlord-level beings like Laharl and Baal! Finally, the Princess was added to Classic Dungeon X3, where she can fight the same enemies Laharl and other characters fight. And funnily enough, Yuu was added to the game as well. So she just straight-up scales to Laharl and other characters.

Along with this, Yuu and the Princess fight against the same enemies (those said enemies literally leave the comic panel they are in, suggesting they can traverse storybooks). Just adding all this together, the Princess can scale to the Disgaea cast and Disgaea-level enemies through Makai Wars, Phantom Brave, and Classic Dungeon X3. Yuu will also naturally upscale her, and with her inclusion within Classic Dungeon X3, there seems to be no problem with scaling her to these characters.

To make a long story short, yes, Yuu can scale to Disgaea characters.

How Big is the Nippon Ichi Software Cosmology?

Now that we have established that Yuu can scale to these characters, how big IS the cosmology? Well, let's get into that.
(Do note this cosmology section is based on this page by Unbacked0. So credits to them btw.)

The Cosmos

The Cosmos is a term used for the ENTIRE multiverse within Nippon Ichi Software. This is also proven since multiple characters seem to refer to the multiverse as the Cosmos, despite being from different games. Within the Cosmos, there is an INFINITE amount of macrocosms. Pram at the beginning of Makai Kingdom states that there is more than one universe, and within the Witch and the Hundred Knight, Ryubence records the possibilities of INFINITE PARALLEL WORLDS. Within each Macrocosm, there are 3 different planes of existence. The human world, the Netherworld, and Celestia. Each plane contains its own space-time, acting as its own universe.

Within this multiverse, it can somehow contain Baal, who stated that the 4th dimension is nothing for him. And that is not some vague-ass statement. In his actual attack, he literally creates a 4D cube, and then a 5D cube. No, like really, the actual 5D cube. He also has another attack, in which it is stated that “the Super Overlord invites you to another dimension.” While it could be talking about the universe kind, since they do that a lot in Disgaea, going off the fact he was literally talking about the 4th dimension in his Grave Eternity Skill, it could be plausible. So these should back up his 5th dimensional nature.

The Human World

In this world, this is where humans live, hence the name. However, this space more accurately refers to the universe containing MOSTLY human inhabitants. Human Worlds have two depictions, with one having a setting similar to our past within our Earth, just that magic exists, or a futuristic setting, in which humanity has created a ton of technology to assist them if they are weaker than angels and demons.

The Netherworld

Netherworlds are where demons live. Due to the obvious amount of demons there, Netherworlds are chaotic, and they constantly battle to determine who will become Overlord within it, as whoever defeats the current Overlord becomes it. Netherworlds are also less advanced than the Human World, in which they have little to no technology, unless it's a specific one that has that. (Do note that in some games, Netherworlds are referred to like they are planets for some reason? Although in NIS’s official artbook for Disgaea, they seemingly exist within spacetimes, and require dimensional traveling to access.)

Demons within Netherworlds also gain an energy called Fear Energy, in which when a human is more afraid of a demon, they gain more power.

Celestia

Celestias are where angels live. It is described as having beautiful and peaceful landscapes. Each Celestia is similar to one another, even down to the residents themselves. While the Human World and Netherworld have a variety of residents, angels here are VERY SIMILAR to one another. Along with this, Celestia is the most technologically advanced realm, with them having various tech like a digital multiverse, giant robots, bombs that can end the multiverse, etc. They also have a Heaven’s Gate, which makes dimensional travel from the Netherworld to Celestia impossible.

Just like demons, angels gain an energy called Awe Energy, in which when humans pray to God or angels, they gain power from it. Angels here also have a weird physiology of being invisible and intangible to those who don’t believe they exist.

Carnage Dimension

The Carnage Dimension is another infinite set of Macrocosms that are parallel to the actual Macrocosms within the Cosmos. Quite literally, EVERYTHING is identical to the actual Macrocosms that exist, even down to the Netherworlds and Human Worlds. These worlds also have the strongest demons within them.

Fate Revolution Circuit

This is a machine that is present within Celestia, as shown in Guided Fate Paradox. What it does is that it simulates dungeons within it, in which Renya Kagurazaka has to beat in order to grant wishes within many worlds, effectively manipulating fate in order to grant these wishes. The digital worlds within the machine are copies of the real world, in which there are possibly an infinite number of worlds. Lilliel states that these wishes pour from multiple worlds, and says that there are over 100 million wishes within the Circuit at that current moment. Although it does rely on assumption a bit. Safely, it would be a finite multiverse held in the machine, but assuming these are coming from an infinite amount of people across infinite worlds, it would have an infinite multiverse.

Arcanus Cella

Introduced within the ClaDun games, Arcanus Cella within ClaDun X3 is referred to as “a pocket dimension that connects various worlds, dungeons, and eras together.” This explains how so many characters from different franchises appear here (and we can even visit their worlds). Created by Stabitha, this world serves as a kind of hub where a character named Jellia gives characters quests to do and dungeons to crawl. This is a relatively small area, with it seemingly just containing an island. However, what’s important is the red door. This door takes the user to a variety of dungeons. Speaking of which…

Dungeons

Dungeons are a big part of this game. Within ClaDun X3, there are 77 dungeons. However, there are other modes that the character can go to called Rangeons and Mapgeons. What is so special about these places? Well, every single dungeon (except boss levels) is procedurally generated. With there being an INFINITE combination of dungeons. Dungeons could also potentially be their own worlds. The red door that takes characters to dungeons seems to be a portal of sorts, not linked to anything. They also compare dungeons to worlds and “eras.” And finally, due to the different environments of the dungeons, it can be safe to assume these are all different worlds. This means that we have an INFINITE amount of worlds, similar to that of the Macrocosms!

Zetta’s Dimension

Introduced in Makai Kingdom, this is a dimensional space created by Zetta. Those who are as powerful as Overlords (or ARE Overlords) can exist and enter this space (which is shown in game that only characters of that status can enter), in which those that aren’t cease to exist, or just cannot enter. Here, Overlords can watch the Cosmos from a TV (yes, a LITERAL TV), which shows that it is on a higher plane of existence.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, with there being an infinite amount of Macrocosms, Dungeons, the worlds within the Carnage Dimension, and the multiverse within the Fate Revolution Circuit, the Nippon Ichi Software cosmology is Multiversal+. However, with the Macrocosms containing a 5th-dimensional being with Baal, this raises it to 5D, or Low Complex Multiversal.

(You could also argue 6D as a potential high end based on how you interpret Zetta's Dimension, the Fate Revolution Circuit, and how Lord Satanael's powers work)

Yuu should scale to 5D and Immeasurable due to, again, being able to scale to other characters from the Nippon Ichi Software multiverse, who can either defeat Baal or just destroy their entire multiverse.

Summary

AP/Strength (Normally): High Universal, higher via stat boosting items

Resistances: Extreme temperatures, Poison/Acid, Sleep Manipulation, Soul Manipulation, and Power Null (via Omni Amulet), Mind Manipulation (partial), (possibly) Dimensional BFR.

Weaknesses: Not the smartest person, wouldn't try to kill you in a fight, would easily get distracted by fluffy animals. With talismans and job skills, she needs SP in order to use those abilities, so she’d eventually run out, as it’s limited.

Note

Thank you for reading this blog! The Cruel King and the Great Hero honestly is SUCH A GREAT GAME, and Yuu is one of my favorite characters, so we obviously had to make a blog about her lol. This blog kinda took a while to make, mainly cause I’m doing ALL the ClaDun X3 research and the Disgaea cosmology research (Also maaaaaaaaaybe cause I have an unhealthy problem with procrastination.). Like I’m not even joking, I accumulated 70 HOURS of ClaDun X3 just to do the research on this blog ;-;

Anyways, really excited about Shinigami Princess, and I am looking forward to when it releases in the US maybe a year after this blog. Alsooooooooooooo, the Cruel King and the Great Hero’s 5th anniversary was like 2 weeks ago by the time this blog drops, so YAY!

Just want to thank SHY HRO for helping me out on this blog as always, you are always very helpful to my blogs, and thanks for helping with organization and writing!

Finally, about Dimentio vs Shadow Milk Cookie, it WILL be the next blog that drops. Now that this is done, I can put my full focus into that blog. We are actually almost done by the time of writing this, it’s just that progress slowed down a bit, and Cookie Run Kingdom has been dropping lore updates EVERY. FUCKING. MONTH. (DAMMIT DEVSISTERS) But yeah, it's next. Thanks again for reading, and I will see y’all next time! Oh! Seems like Yuu wants to say goodbye!

Thank you for taking the time to read this blog about me! Stay safe everyone! Bye!
